Loss of trust
During
my second year of high school I had a best friend and we were also dating. We
first met at a family gathering, she was a freshman and I was a sophomore. We
both had strong feelings for each other and made it official. We got together
on Nov 8, 2014.
Over
a year we grow closer and closer. Spending each day with each other. We were
the “It” couple everyone would talk about us and say things like “omg look at
them that’s relationship goals”. We became even closer, one night we were
sitting in my back yard and we both look at each other and made a promise. We
promised to stay faithful to one another and also trust each other and most
importantly never to cheat on one another.
During
the summer my family was planning to go on vacation. So I asked my mother if my
girlfriend could come and she said yes.
It was official I was going to have the best summer of my entire life
(So at least I thought). On our first week we landed in London. Such a
beautiful city in UK, we went to many places and it was absolutely beautiful.
It was getting late so we went to a hotel. Two weeks passed and were having
such a great time. Only when I thought things could NEVER get worse, one night at the hotel, I woke up in the middle of
the night and couldn’t find my girlfriend so I search the hotel up and down.
Only to come to see her flirting with another guy in the pool. Yeah I know
NEVER say NEVER, but I really thought we had something special. All that trust
we build for that whole year was crumbled just within a blink of an eye.
Moral
of this story is don’t give out trust so easily. Trust is earned not given.
That’s one of the few characteristics I believe bring the best out of people.
Many people told me I over reacted and should give her another chance, but one
thing they lack to understand is trust is like a paper once its crumbled it
will never be the same. Don’t be ignorant and let love block your standards
like me, let this be an eye opener for y’all. Do better than me and make sure
when you find that person she/he is the right one.
